Lay the item flat on a table, buttoned or zipped, and smooth it out. Measure in a straight line with a soft tape. These are the ones buyers ask for most.
Length
From the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, straight down to the hem.
Sleeve
From the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff, along the top of the sleeve.
Waist and inseam
For pants: waist straight across the top, doubled; inseam from the crotch seam to the hem on the inside leg.

Inches or centimetres?
