How to measure
button-up shirts
for a listing.

5 numbers buyers ask for. Lay it flat on a table, buttoned or zipped, and smooth it out before you start.

ABCDE
  1. APit to pitButtoned, straight across the front from armpit seam to armpit seam. Double it for the chest.
  2. BLengthFrom the base of the collar at the back straight down to the hem.
  3. CSleeveFrom the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff, cuff buttoned.
  4. DShoulderAcross the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.
  5. ECollarUnbuttoned and laid flat, from the middle of the top button to the far end of its buttonhole.

What makes
the number wrong.

  • Measuring unbuttoned: the front gapes and pit to pit comes out short.
  • Measuring the sleeve to the cuff seam instead of the end of the cuff.
  • Leaving the collar size off on dress shirts, which is the first thing buyers look for.

Put it on
the photo.

Many buyers only swipe the photos. If the measurements are on one of them, the "measurements?" message never comes. The measurement photo maker draws them on your own photo, in the browser, and nothing is uploaded.
