How to measure
sweaters and hoodies
for a listing.

4 numbers buyers ask for. Lay it flat on a table, buttoned or zipped, and smooth it out before you start.

  1. APit to pitStraight across the front, armpit seam to armpit seam, without stretching the knit.
  2. BLengthFrom the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the bottom of the ribbed hem.
  3. CSleeveFrom the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff, along the top.
  4. DHemAcross the bottom band, relaxed. Buyers want to know if it hugs the hips.

What makes
the number wrong.

  • Stretching the ribbing while you measure: knit springs back, buyers' expectations don't.
  • Measuring a hoodie's length from the top of the hood.
  • Forgetting drop shoulders: say so, or the sleeve number looks too short.
