How to measure
t-shirts and tops
for a listing.

4 numbers buyers ask for. Lay it flat on a table, buttoned or zipped, and smooth it out before you start.

ABCD
  1. APit to pitStraight across the front, from one armpit seam to the other. Double it for the chest.
  2. BLengthFrom the highest point of the shoulder, next to the collar, straight down to the hem.
  3. CSleeveFrom the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve, along the top.
  4. DShoulderStraight across the back, from one shoulder seam to the other.

What makes
the number wrong.

  • Measuring a tee that's still crumpled from the wash: smooth it flat first.
  • Measuring diagonally from the armpit to the hem instead of straight down from the shoulder.
  • Pulling the tape tight on stretchy jersey, which adds half an inch.

Put it on
the photo.

Many buyers only swipe the photos. If the measurements are on one of them, the "measurements?" message never comes. The measurement photo maker draws them on your own photo, in the browser, and nothing is uploaded.
